The 2023 Fair Finance Philippines (FFPh) Bank Policy Assessment examined the lending and investment policies of Security Bank using the Fair Finance Guide International (FFGI) Methodology. The assessment revealed that Security Bank scored highly in financial inclusion and consumer protection, with 5.7 and 5 out of 10, respectively.

However, the Bank received zero scores on themes like nature, climate change, gender equality and human rights. In sustainable finance, banks approve commercial loans based not only on the financial strength of applicants but also on their commitment to be environmentally and socially responsible throughout the life of the loan. To sum, banks could impose that a borrower demonstrates sustainable orientation as a lending requirement.
