
The study examines the role of the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) as a government financial institution with a mandate to provide credit services to the agriculture and fisheries sector especially to small farmers and fisherfolk, and the importance of LBP’s lending performance to improve farmers’ income and productivity. Recommendations include examining how Agribusiness Venture Arrangements (AVAs) impact small farmers, and suggestions to improve farmers’ access to credit.
